没钱用英语怎么表达？

    在这个消费时代，钱无非就是拿来买买买。控制力不好很容易就透支荷包，只能吃土过日。今天，我们来了解一下有关没钱的英语表达。

quite pennniless

"penny"意为“便士”；“less”表“无”，结合起来指“没钱”。

He's always quite penniless at the end of month.
一到月末，他就没钱。

 

flat broke

"flat"基本意思是“平坦的”，这里是“完全”，表程度。“broke”指“破产”

He was flat broke when he came out from the casino.
当他走出赌场时，他已经输到没钱了。

 

be cleaned out

钱财被清空。

She's cleaned out by shopping on the internet.
网购买买买后她就没钱了。

 

haven't a bean

口袋里一颗豆都没有，形容囊中羞涩。

I can't go to the concert to see my idol because I haven't a bean.
我去不了演唱会，因为我没钱了。

 

short/lack of money

金钱紧缺。

I am short of money recently.
最近我没钱。

 

on one's uppers

极度贫穷，处境窘迫。

They are on their uppers so they have to rely on the support from government.
他们太穷了只能靠政府的资助。

 

keep the wolf from the door

拒狼门外。英语文化中，"wolf"(狼)是饥饿的象征。把饥饿挡于门外，形容免于饥饿，勉强度日。

She spent most of her money,now she can just keep the wolf from the door.
她花光了大部分的钱，现在只能勉强度日。

 

max out credit card

"max"基本意思是“最大值”；在此引申为“透支”信用卡。

I maxed out my credit card so I can't afford other stuff.
我透支了信用卡，已经没钱买其他东西了。

 

poor as a church mouse

教堂没有厨房，因此里面的老鼠没东西吃。穷得像教堂的老鼠，形容人一贫如洗，生活窘迫。

After a day at the races I was poor as a church mouse.
一天赛马会下来，我已经穷得响叮当了。
