在某人开始做一件事情的时候，许多人都说他不会成功。但是最后他还是成功了。这时候，他的心里很高兴，也许还很得意，这就是the last laugh。也就是我们现代口语说的最后的胜利，笑到最后！

来看看这俩个句子：

We went the long way round and they took a short cut, but we had the last laugh because they got lose!

我们兜了远路，他们却走了捷径，但最终还是我们赢了，因为他们迷了路！

We'll see who has the last laugh.

我们倒要看看谁能笑到最后。
