on 

强调某物在另一物上方，且两者有接触
An apple is on my head.
我的头上有一颗苹果。

Over

 

解释一：强调某物在另一物的垂直正上方，且两者没有接触
 1.An apple hangs over me.
  有一颗苹果悬挂在我的正上方。

 2.There’s a bridge over the river.
  河上有座桥。

解释二：某物在上方移动而越过另一物
A plane flew over the house.
一架飞机从房子上方飞过。

 

解释三：某物在上方覆盖、遮蔽、垄罩住另一物
 1.My dad built a roof over the courtyard.
  我爸爸为庭院建了一个顶棚。
 2.The sun shone over the valley.
  阳光照耀整座山谷。

 

above

 

解释一：指某物高于另一物，但不一定位于垂直正上方，且两者没有接触
 1.The moon is now above the trees.
  月亮高挂在树的上方。
 2.Raise your hands above your head.
  把你的手举到头上。
 3.The sun rose above the horizon.
  太阳升起，并高过地平线。

 

解释二：指某种抽象的标准、程度、水平高于、在…之上
 1.Men and women of eighteen and above are eligible to vote.
  18 岁 (含) 以上的男女都拥有投票权。
 2.In the company, Angela ranks above Ron.
  在这家公司，Angela 的位阶高于 Ron。
 3.The temperature will stay above zero during the daytime.

 1.We drove under the bridge.

解释一：指 A 物低于 B 物，但不一定位于垂直正下方，且两者没有接触。
 1.There is a river below the village.
  村庄下有一条小河。
 2.The movie theater is below the supermarket.
  电影院在超市楼下。

 

解释二：指低于某种抽象的标准、程度、水平、在…之下
 1.The total cost of the clothes Adele bought yesterday was below/under two thousand dollars.
  Adele 昨天买的所有衣服总计低于 2,000 元。
 2.Nana has three people working below her.
  Nana 有三个下属。
 3.The temperature has dropped below freezing point tonight.

Beneath

解释一：强调某物在另一物的垂直正下方时，和 under 通用。不过 beneath 比较正式和文雅，多出现在文学作品中。
 After weeks at sea, it was wonderful to feel firm ground beneath our feet once again.
 在海上待了好几个星期后，双脚再次踏上坚实土地的感觉真好。

 

解释二：低于、劣于…

 1.Jeremy considered that job beneath him.
  Jeremy 认为做这份工作有失他的身份。
 2.Tina is so arrogant that she thinks everyone is beneath her.
